Poor TR-6

Here's a sad cautionary tale from my cousin who recently moved:

When we were moving from Alaska to Colorado, we were allowed to ship two cars so we were going to ship our truck and Triumph TR6. The transport company came to pick up the Triumph on a Friday evening and take it to their lot to await loading on the ship. On Saturday morning we got a call from the transport company saying the Triumph caught fire and burned on Friday evening!  We went to check it out on Saturday and it was a total loss. The transport company didn't say much, just that they noticed it smoking at about 7:30 Friday evening and then called the fire department to put the fire out. When we finally got the fire department report, it said that the transport company had decided the Triumph had too much gas in its tank so they let it IDLE FOR 3 HOURS to get rid of the excess gas!!  No wonder it caught fire! Anyway, the insurance company settled with us and were very generous and we left the fire department report with them to follow up with the transport company.

We're still in shock!! We were looking so forward to being able to drive the Triumph on the nice winding mountain roads of Colorado.
