Overdrive Working

I've been wanting to get the overdrive working for some time. I checked the oil level in the transmission first, and it was good. Then I started tracing the wiring for the system backwards from the solenoid. Of course, the last stop was at the fuse block where there was a bad connection. I fixed that, turned the key to on, put the shifter in fourth gear and threw the O/D switch. < click >  YES!  Buttoned up and took her for a drive. O/D works as advertised. So cool! My first overdrive car. The reverse lights are also working now, since they get power from the same source as the O/D.
The following video is in third gear, showing the RPM drop as the O/D engages (speed of the car was constant). Try to ignore the jerky speedo...I know I need a new cable. Video was taken with a cellphone and unplanned, so also please forgive the low quality.

Of course, during the drive, a new clunking noise from the rear of the car began. Can't have a clean victory...gotta be payback. More on the clunk later.

Hi Ross, That seems a bit mean of Paddocks.

I occasionally ship to the US on behalf of my company, and would be happy for you to ship to me in the future and I can forward it on?

Good luck with the restoration, looking good so far.

All the best, Simon, London, UK
