Finished repairing my daughter's truck fender, so I got a little time to spend with the Stag this afternoon. Following advice from the Stag Digest, I jumped up and down on the repaired gas tank to shrink its vertical height a little...and it worked! It now fits into its designated area, allowing the floorboards of the trunk to rest on top of it properly. I put a coat of black paint on it and plan to tackle the plumbing and fuel pump checkout tomorrow. I also installed the two choke cables and the accelerator cable, and mounted the air intake box to the carbs. Connected the new green ignition leads as well.
